What to Wear for Senior Pictures in Nebraska: Senior Session Outfits Made Simple
Jeans or a dress? Casual or dressy? What colors? How many outfits?
Trying to decide what to wear for senior pictures can turn into one of those things that folks struggle with way more than necessary.
My biggest piece of advice: keep it simple and wear something that you are comfortable in and is YOU!
As a senior photographer in Central Nebraska, I want my seniors to look back at their pictures years from now
and see themselves and not look at the picture and say “OMG I can’t believe I wore that!! followed up with an eye roll!
Start With Clothes You Wear on the Regular
Your senior session probably isn't the time to experiment with a completely new look.
Start with clothes you already feel comfortable and confident wearing. Good jeans and a favorite top can
photograph just as well as something brand-new.
For senior session outfits, it’s best to sprinkle in a little variety. Like one casual outfit, something a little dressier,
and an outfit that you absolutely love, but Mom might not agree, throw it in just for fun.
It’s also important to include a sports uniform, letterman jacket, dance uniform, FFA Jacket or prom dress.
These personal pieces are what help tell your story and show off your personality which is very important.
Keep Colors and Patterns Simple
Solid colors and simple patterns are always a safe bet for senior pictures in Nebraska.
What I would leave at home are really the busy prints, huge logos, lots of words.
These will be outdated and really tend not to look the best in pictures.
Remember this session is all about YOU and telling your story, this helps make you the star of the show!
Fit, Comfort & Keep It Simple
A good fit to move freely and comfortably. Constant pulling, tugging or adjusting something, it's probably not a good choice. Also important are clean shoes, simple jewelry and an extra layer like a denim jacket or vest can
easily complete andoutfit as well as come in handy with Nebraska weather.
Most of all, don't overthink it. You don't need a closet full of perfectly styled outfits. Pick a few things that
are your favorites and that show off who you are, and if you're stuck and unsure be sure to send me pictures.
As always I’am happy to help!
